More about the

Bulgarian society of Nuclear medicine

The Bulgarian Society of Nuclear Medicine (BSNM) was established in 1995 as an independent scientific society, with Prof. Dr. Stefan Milanov, DSc, as its first President. Today, the society is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pavel Bochev, who serves as its current President.

BSNM comprises over 100 active members from various regions of Bulgaria, including nuclear medicine physicians, medical physicists, radiochemists, radiopharmacologists, technologists, and other scientists with a special interest in nuclear medicine. It is the sole scientific body officially recognized as an advisory entity to the Bulgarian government on matters concerning nuclear medicine.

BSNM is governed by a Board of Directors, which includes the President, Vice Presidents, General Secretary, Associate Secretary, Treasurer, and two Members. These positions are elected for a three-year term by the society's members during the General Assembly.

To achieve its objectives, the society organizes specialized committees, such as the BSNM Education Committee, aimed at promoting continuous medical education in nuclear medicine.
